Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.
Time for a new year once again. I don’t know about you, but I am sure as heck ready for this new refreshing year. The past year has been a crazy whirlwind of emotions and many happenings. Though, I have to say that life has been a beautiful ride so far. I am eager to find out what new adventures await me this new year!
I’ve never thought of finding one specific word to carry with me through an entire year. 2017 I’ve decided to try it out! My word is perseverance.
Perseverance: (noun) meaning steadfastness in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.
You have two choices in life. You can either stay in bed, focussing on the negatives and wallow about how your life is just down-right terrible. Or, jump out of bed, grab some coffee, and live life to the utmost fullest potential! Be optimistic! Try new things, and have an open mind. Get out in the world and live life the way you dream it to be! Life makes things challenging sometimes but embrace the challenges and conquer them! You know the saying “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade!” Get up (grab some coffee), get dressed, and never give up! Always keep moving forward! God wants us to live according to His word. This is what I am aiming for! Serving the Lord in all that I do and aiming for a better life! The life God has created for me. I attend church, but I want to become a better Christian and develop an even stronger and intimate relationship with God. So everyday I will make time for God and His word, because when I do this it truly helps my thought process. My thoughts become more positive and uplifting and challenges become less of a worry.
Perserverance is key to every detail in life. If you want to become better, do better and start controlling your thoughts. Positive thinking is the first step towards success! When you focus on wanting more of what you have all the time, you lose focus on what is most important: God, love, family, friends, food, and a roof over our heads! What we have today is what we need to focus on. In this world we are tempted by fancy clothes and things that cost an arm and a leg. Every time I walk through the mall the first stores that catch my eye are Bath & Body Works and Coach. My greatest weaknesses. Ugh! I force myself to run away as fast as I can! You know what, it feels great to be able to do that! Thanks to Financial Peace University by Dave Ramsey. http://www.daveramsey.com/fpu Being a single parent on a low income you learn how to budget your money and spend it wisely. I still have difficulty with finances but we all do in some point in our lives. What is important is that we try to become better at everything in life and that includes our finances. This year I aim to become even better at dealing with money. As humans it is natural for us to want more and more. The bible says: The world and it’s desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever. 1 John 2:17 -This is evidence that what this world gives us, is nothing compared to what God has already have planned for us. Our lives are in Gods hands and He is forever faithful! My goal of starting college classes is something I have wanted to do for years. Now that I am a single parent and I have a job, I want to become better, and I know I can do better for myself and my daughter. I aim to achieve my degree and find my dream career (what ever that may be) my focus has to stay on God first. Above all! I am capable of anything through Christ. –Positive thinking! I have always been a worry-wart and tend to let my stress level reach way above the max. I lose alot of sleep that is well needed. Negative thoughts are the cause of the stress and worry, so I am determined to become a more positive thinker and I give it all to God. God has control over everything and when we give it all to Him and pray for our stress and worry to disappear, God will prevail and ease us from the stress and worry that is holding us back. Start by thinking about all you hope to achieve this year. Now, naturally negative thoughts will start running through your mind; but crush them with positive uplifting thoughts and repeat on a daily basis. –Something I just learned today in church! This is what I will start doing for myself. Dreams and goals can be reached if we stay strong on God and never give up. Take action! Do your absolute best at everything. Take time for God every day. Work harder than ever before at your job. Take time for your family. Pray, wait, and trust God with all your heart, mind and spirit. Never quit trying your absolute best. This is where perseverance begins.
